Oral contraceptives or birth control are taken by about 65% of the female population in the US according to the CDC. Most people are unaware that this drug comes with side effects such as nutrient depletions. The most common drug induced nutrient depletions from Birth Control are as follows:
- Magnesium
- Pantothenic Acid (B5)
- Thiamin (B1)
- Riboflavin (B2)
- Pyridoxine (B6)
- Folic acid
- Niacin

- CoQ10
- Vitamin C

If you are taking an oral contraceptive it would be recommended to supplement with the above nutrients. Most can be found in a Pre-Natal formula.
